A thing out of time that is not so easy to find

Let’s do it again. Buying leather things is unethical and unecological. But looking for authentic leather items in vintage stores is a fashionable and conscious approach. Voluminous leather jackets made of worn leather, which may be several decades old, are a real treasure. And such things look many times better than their modern counterparts. A leather jacket should be taken a couple of sizes larger to be worn with deliberately feminine things — floral dresses, silk combinations and flying blouses.

The best place to find real vintage leather is flea markets and second—hand shops in the USA and Europe. And if the weekend’s foreign markets are not available to us yet, and you intend to get a leather jacket, feel free to start looking in vintage stores on Instagram or on retail platforms like Avito, Ebay or Asos Marketplace.

We, in turn, went through local brands with vintage items and found 5 stores where right now you can buy a great jacket with an oblique zipper. Just remember: vintage items are almost always in a single copy, so you need to act quickly!

REUSE VINTAGE

A vintage store in the center of Moscow, where there is everything from classic trench coats to nylon bags that your mothers wore. And there are also a lot of correct, voluminous, stylish roe deer in the Reuse assortment! Updates appear often, but the coolest thing is sorted out in a couple of minutes.

One of the largest and oldest (founded in 2003) vintage stores in St. Petersburg with an impressive collection of archival items. They often bring really rare specimens, including biker jackets made of thick genuine leather. The assortment is updated frequently, and not all things have time to upload to Instagram, so if you come to St. Petersburg for the weekend, be sure to add IT to the list of places to visit.
