The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continue their royal tour of the Caribbean. After two days in Belize, the next stop is sunny Jamaica. In addition to state meetings at the highest level, the royal couple decided to have a lot of fun and pay tribute to the famous reggae music of the region. During their visit to the Caribbean country, the first thing they did was go to Trench Town, Kingston — the «birthplace of music» and home to two of the best football teams in the country.

Kate decided to demonstrate a conscious approach to the wardrobe and chose for the occasion a stunning coral and turquoise vintage dress with a print in the spirit of the 1950s.

William and Kate joined several young footballers on the local pitch. During the visit, the prince showed off his athletic skills by taking part in a quick game, while Kate cheered him on at the podium. In addition, the royal parents with many children also met some famous Jamaican sports stars, including the Olympic bobsleigh team that participated in the Beijing Games, and took some memorable pictures.

The schedule turned out to be stressful. Next, William and Kate went to the Trench Town Museum, where they played the drums heartily. While visiting local exhibits, they learned about the influence of reggae music all over the world. Trench Town was mentioned in Bob Marley’s hit No Woman, No Cry.

The visit of Kate Middleton and Prince William takes place in honor of the platinum jubilee of Elizabeth II, who in fact is the queen of both Belize and Jamaica. The tour of the monarchs caused a mixed reaction — numerous protests are taking place throughout the region, calling on the British monarchs to pay compensation for the years of slavery and step down from the throne.
