Gothic princesses wear cargo pants and blankets embroidered with pearls: Simone Rocha FW22 collection Fashion 21.02.2022 The show was held as part of London Fashion Week Fairy tales and legends are the foundation around which all Simone Rocha collections are built. In the new season, the Dublin designer took a darker direction, inspired by an Irish myth called «The Children of Lear». The story tells about the four children of the god Lear, who were turned into swans by an evil stepmother. They were forced to wander the world in the form of birds for almost a century, until the spell was lifted. Swan images were read in multi-layered snow-white outfits consisting of fluffy dresses and jackets, transparent blouses decorated with embroidery, skirts made of transparent tulle and weightless combinations worn over sweaters. The blankets, apparently, were references to the hardships that the swan children had to go through: they hid from storms and frosts, covering each other with their wings. In addition, the collection includes trendy cargo pants, velvet corset dresses, raincoats and down jackets in a dark palette — the atmosphere of the Middle Ages has never been so attractive and magical. +33 Original content from the site 31
